SELECTED PRESS:

"The Philadelphia scene has always been pretty vibrant; the rest of the world has just finally started to notice it. The past few years have seen everyone from The Menzingers and Beach Slang to Modern Baseball and Restorations impress with wildly original albums. Based on their stellar debut, Telemetry—released in May on Wednesday Records—Fire In The Radio is the latest Philly band to keep the streak alive." - New Noise Magazine

“With the hooks of Gaslight Anthem, The leads of The Menzingers, and the melodies of classic melodic punk, Fire In The Radio combines their elements to form their new album, Telemetry....Fire In The Radio might just be the catchiest band in their genre. Their melodic songs are filled with powerful riffs and emotional vocals. Telemetry is a testimony to Fire In The Radio’s strength to write indulgently catchy songs that will never lose their luster." - PunkNews.org

“A melodic punk supergroup of sorts, Fire In The Radio are a band of punk and hardcore lifers who’ve pooled their resumes into an exceptionally catchy, well-written record, Telemetry. Think Samiam, late-period Jawbreaker, even Saves The Day." - Half Cloth

Mock Orange sign to Topshelf Records release new album

There are few bands more deserving of success than Mock Orange. For over a decade they have toiled away refining their craft, evolving, and writing amazing songs. As individuals, there are none kinder or more humble. We could not be more pleased to have had the privilege of releasing several of their records and cheered the loudest on their signing to the amazing label that is Top Shelf Records. It is our hope this move will give them greater visibility and a broader fanbase, all of which they undoubtedly deserve. Their new record is incredible and you should pre-order it immediately. Fire in the Radio Debut "Telemetry" Trailer at Absolutepunk.net

Firepic.jpg

On May 12, 2015, Philadelphia’s Fire in the Radio will release its new record entitled “Telemetry” on Wednesday Records.

Work on the record, which contains eleven tracks, started last year when Fire in the Radio spent time at Inner Ear studios in Washington, DC, with engineer Don Zientara (Fugazi) doing a series of demos. The demos turned into the foundation for a full-length record that was recorded in the summer of 2014 at Miner Street Studios in Philadelphia (The Menzingers, Restorations) with producer Thom Flowers (Lagwagon) and engineer Matt Schimelfenig (Cayetana). The record was mixed by Jesse Gander (Japandroids) at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, and mastered by Alan Douches in New York. The band, who derives their name from the Charles Bukowski poem “Regard Me," has a unique sound that has been appropriately described as an amalgamation of Jawbreaker, Tigers Jaw, Weezer and Title Fight.

The "Telemetry" album art features a photograph from Don Hamerman's "Found Baseball" series, which has been prominently featured in Juxtapoz magazine and NPR.

Absolutepunk.net is running an exclusive feature of a film trailer detailing the recording of the record at Miner Street.
